  • How far is the motel from the beach?

    Bay House Motel is perfectly located just 2 minutes walk to Shelly Beach and 4 minutes walk to Bateau Bay Beach.  


    Directly across the street is the Wyrrabalong National Park. From there, a scenic walking track takes you through several beautiful lookouts, leading to the highlight Crackneck Point Lookout. The walk takes approximately 30 minutes one way.  


    This prime position gives guests easy access to stunning beaches and breathtaking coastal views right at your doorstep.

    Yes, parking is available at Bay House Motel.


    Free parking is available on the premises (on-site). 


    You can also park on the street with no time restrictions. This is perfect even if you have more than one vehicle. Plenty of street parking is usually available.

    Office Hours:  

    Open 7 days a week from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM


    Self Check-in / Check-out:  

    Available after office hours for late arrivals or early departures.


    Swimming Pool Hours:  

    Open daily from 9:00 AM to 8:30 PM


    We recommend arriving during office hours if possible, but we’re happy to arrange self check-in for guests arriving later. Let me know your arrival time and I’ll make sure everything is ready for you!

  • When can I see whales?

    Humpback whales migrate along the NSW coastline from May to November.


    They spend summer feeding in Antarctica, then head north at the end of autumn to the warmer Pacific waters to breed and give birth.


    Best spots for Whale Watching 🐳: 


    1. Crackneck Lookout (Wyrrabalong National Park)

    Drive straight to the top. Limited parking, gets busy on sunny weekends. Picnic tables and benches available — great for a picnic with views.


    2. Bateau Bay Beach Viewing Area

    Recently renovated with a sandstone viewing platform. Easy access, plenty of parking, picnic tables and amenities nearby. Good clear views over the bay.
